OUR STORY:
City of Destiny Church was founded by Pastors Dan and Deanna Trujillo and their three children, Danica, Jordan and Adrion, after being led to share God’s love in the community by feeding the hungry.
Since their childhood, both Dan and Deanna have always had a deep desire to see the body of Christ come together in unity (with the same heart and purpose), to spread the Gospel of Christ’s love; and to cultivate and fan the flames of revival. They have been active with many different ministries, and missions. They have a burden for the poor; with a desire to rebuild broken lives and bring transformation to their community.
In 2001, Pastor Deanna Trujillo started a gleaning ministry in their community, using their house as the post (see old Downtown Spfld Historical 1890 house, above). God provided some divine connections and Pastors Dan and Deanna, along with their chidren began to distribute the bread (and other “goods” donated) to the needy people around their neighborhood. People warmed up to them and began asking why the Trujillos were doing this, their reply was, “We just want to show you the love of Jesus!” Soon people began to ask for prayer and have questions about God. The Trujillos began to share from the Bible and lead people in prayers for Salvation. Over time, this BreadBox ministry, and it’s example has been expanded and shared with other churches and ministries as opportunities have arisen.
In 2002, with the encouragement from others in spiritual leadership positions “MetroNet Ministries“ was officially incorperated. People were knocking on their door at all hours asking for bread and help; and so many needed to know God. The Trujillos saw a need for a designated time to study the Bible and answer questions.
In 2003 the Trujillo’s began a bible study, and started praying for neighborhood people in their home on Saturday nights. It was not planned, but they realized that they had founded a small church, and God gave them the name “City of Destiny Church”.
In 2004 Dan and Deanna were “officially blessed” in the launching of City of Destiny Church through the hospitality of the leadership of City Harvest Church near Vanc. Wa. The Lord spoke a word to them about a miracle that was coming that would provide a church and ministry home base for them. Then City Harvest Church helped them to relocate from their house and rent facilities from another church in the area (then Living Stones, later Crossfire Ministries) on Saturday nights for about one year.
In 2005 The Assemblies of God (Oregon Ministry Network) approached and met with Dan and Deanna. A local congregation asked if they would come, merge with and be the pastors at the old church known as Bethel Assembly of God.
Bethel Assembly was founded in 1952, but at this time, did not have a permanent pastor for over two years. The Trujillo’s began to pray about it, they sought council and waited for three months. Finally they believed that this was the miracle, God had provided! So they moved (just a few blocks from the other location) and merged the two churches together.
With the name City of Destiny Church, they continued to move forward as a “new church plant/merger/missions church” to reflect the call of God to the community.
IT IS A RELEVANT CHURCH!! ~City of Destiny Church~ is real, practical, hospitable and loving, prophetic and spiritually relevant church for all ages, social, ethnic and cultural backgrounds. This is a place for you!!
MetroNet Ministries still exists as a separate ministry (bridging gaps between churches, the business world and resources available, and other ministries and volunteers) and is evolving and expanding.
It includes the “BreadBox” ministry that is open every Tuesday and Thursday from 10am-12:00pm. Volunteers come from the church and from other churches in the county, as well as from various businesses. The volunteers come together for a half hour of morning “SOAP” devotions to start the day, before they open up to the public. Then the volunteers hold a ten-minute service outside before the “Bread-Box” opens, in which a personal story, or scripture is shared with the crowd that is gathered, and prayer is offered there (the community has named it “Church on the Porch”) Throughout the two hours that the BreadBox is open anyone may recieve prayer (live) or write their requests down on the “prayer board” (intercessors pray for these requests). God is moving, and many miracles are happening!
MetroNet Ministries has created a “storehouse” hospitality ministry (“Dream Center Lane Co.”), and is working on making connections outside the community to funnel in more needed resources to help rebuild our area and help eliminate systemic poverty.
Dream Center Lane Co. was incorporated in 2010. It is a “storehouse” ministry. A benevolence hospitality ministry that a “place”, where Christians from ministries can come and volunteer time to love and serve the community; and where needy people can come to receive much-needed resources. Other ministry outreach programs happen as well, and many are in the process of being formed.
Metronet Ministries is working on creating more places, and opportunities for the body of Christ to function and be the hands and feet of Jesus!
MetroNet Ministries is the local network manager for a software program called Charity Tracker for Lane, Linn, and Douglas counties, it networks benevolence ministries together to communicate efficiently between each other and more effectively care for the needy who come to the body of Christ for help.
We invite you to come, make yourself at home!!!!
